What do you do?
The simple answer is: whatever you want! My aim is to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, whether you just want to have fun catching fish or want to learn some new techniques or methods that are a bit more detailed.
Fishing on Rutland or Grafham can be a doubting prospect with Rutland having a perimeter of 27 miles making it one of the largest manmade waters in Europe, and knowing where to go and what to use can be seasonal, many times in the past I have turned left instead of right and lost a whole mornings fishing by going to the wrong end of the lake with no fish! I take away the guess work and put you right on the fish with the right method and flies.
Are gift cards available?
Yes! Check out as normal on any product and select the gift card options and it will be instantly redeemable. We will then send you a presentation gift card (to print and put in cards etc.) within 24 hours.
where can i fish with you?
Really anywhere you want! Nothing is out of bounds.
The mainstay of the guiding concentrates on the midland reservoirs but having been bank national fishing champion twice, I have a lot to give and impart to you with respect to the smaller waters.

are meals included?
We do offer a packed lunch with all experience’s which usually includes a couple of drinks (one being water) a sandwich of your choice and a few cakes and biscuits to keep you going while you are landing that fish of a lifetime!
On the corporate packages we normally offer a barbeque lunch with or without alcohol depending on your preference. With the corporate days of over eight people we would have two qualified guides to instruct and help with tuition.
Any special dietary needs must be discussed prior to your trip.
do i need my own tackle?
No we can supply everything if needed even the water proof clothing can be provided at no extra cost!

If you have your own gear of course no problem bring it with you but should you need anything during the day extra lines ect we always carry spares just in case.
are children welcome?
There are some restrictions on age with some of the midland waters on the boat side of things but mainly most venues accommodate and welcome children coming in a non fishing capacity, if they also fish there is an additional charge (see pricing).
The same goes for dogs. I have had a few clients ask if they can bring their dog, most fishing venues do not allow it but larger waters such as Grafham do, as long as the dog has it’s own life jacket. I take my Labrador, Tilly, out on the water and she loves it!
do i need any experience
No, I cater for the complete beginner who has never even cast a fly to the professional who wants to hone his casting skills or techniques.
If you have no experience we would normally set up on the grass on the bank and get you used to casting, retrieving etc. before we head out on the water. We want everyone to enjoy the day with again safety being the paramount consideration. There are times when the weather will pay a big part on whether we can get out or not especially on the larger waters such as Grafham or Rutland the boats are not allowed out once the wind speed has reached a designated strength. But with modern weather predictions now being so accurate we can normally tell if we should go or not a few days prior to the proposed trip , always best to check with the office before your trip.
In the event of the day being cancelled due to the weather all money will be refunded or an alternative day can be arranged.
